Summary:
We are looking for a mid to senior level Java EE Web Developer / Software Engineer.
The ideal candidate should be able to work well in an n-tier environment and have a leaning, preference and skill
set related to front end technologies (modern standards based HTML, AJAX Frameworks, JavaScript, debugging).

Over the past eight years, our development team has built the leading corporate bond e-trading platform, as
well as real-time market data service. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic software engineer to join
the our development team as a mid to senior level developer for the market data service.
S/he will be responsible for a spectrum of assignments from working on new products, system and product
enhancements, and systems architecture to bug fixes. We are seeking skilled engineers who have strong
technical skills.
The nature of the market data service requires skill and experience in working on real-time, high volume,
highly available web systems.
Although we are a publicly traded company, we are a small organization where you will have exposure to the
most senior managers within technology and the company. Our environment is entrepreneurial in nature, and
we reward results, creativity, and initiative. We deliver four major releases a year which require occasional
long hours and/or weekend hours; however, our employees often work from home when working these
extended hours.
Position Requirements
* Must reside in or be willing to relocate to UT for this perm position.
Required Technical Skills:
· Web technologies, such as HTML(5), JavaScript, Struts2, JSP, and Ajax Frameworks (GWT, jQuery) etc.
(3-5 years)
· Worked in a production n-tier environment (AJAX, Java EE / Oracle)
· 5+ years of enterprise software development experience
· Excellent core Java skills (Java 1.5, Java 1.6 features)
· Enterprise RDBMS (Oracle and/or Sybase)
· Can at a minimum understand complex SQL queries.
· Good understanding of object-oriented design patterns
· Windows XP (develop) / Linux (deploy)
Preferred Technical Skills:
· Knowledge of Java EE standards & frameworks (Sun / Spring or other)
· JMS
· JDBC, JPA (Hibernate or other)
· XML related technologies / JSON
· Extensive experience writing and debugging multi-threaded programming
· Java build systems (ant / maven)
· Continuous Integration / Unit & Integration Testing
Other requirements:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Organizational and problem resolution skills
· The profile of a team-player who forms strong relationships with colleagues and has good interpersonal skills
· Ability to deal with changing priorities
Preferred attributes:
· Financial services experience and solid understanding of securities trading
· Quantitative formal education (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
Typical Day:
* Adding Features / Enhancement requests to a legacy code base, as well as bug fixing
* Java Coding
* Front End Web Development (HTML, JavaScript, JSP, AJAX, Struts2, Front end layout, possible design)
* Oracle Database Development (JPA, PL/SQL, SQL)
Travel:
Travel to NYC may be required (typically one or two weeks per year)
Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and includes a competitive cash and comprehensive
benefits package, including four weeks of vacation, 401(k) employer match, and tuition assistance for
qualified employees. Most employees are eligible for year-end cash bonuses. Equity in the company
is considered on a case-by-case basis and is based, in part, on past earnings history.
