The associate web developer position is a member of the Web Development team. Basic responsibilities include project work that is typically team focused and includes creating/enhancing web based software applications and databases through client-side programming,server-side programming,configuration and logic,database design and programming,functional testing,and training users on software. Independent work is similar in form,but typically smaller in scale. Programmer may be assigned specific applications to oversee and maintain through subject matter expertise,troubleshooting,code development,and system development. Administrative duties including attending team and project meetings,meeting with campus collaborators,and some administration of software and applications. This is a coding-intense position.

Responsibilities include hands on development,integration,support and operational management of web applications for the WSU web site,web content management system,and portal. Develop activities are "mobile-first" and continually evaluate accessibility and security. Demonstrated ability to integrate web,portal,and mobile applications with university administrative systems,including single sign on integration. Perform quality control,usability,and load testing to ensure high performance enterprise web applications. Ability to participate and occasionally lead software development projects in addition to independent project and maintenance work. Coordination of department change management and healthy operation of production environment.
