About this role...
Ancestry is looking for a Sr. Spanish Linguist / Localization Manager to localize our Ancestry products into Spanish and other languages. The Localization team helps Ancestry's ideas and products look, feel and sound natural to users in their own countries. We collaborate with international Engineering, Product and Marketing teams to steer products through the localization process and ensure successful launches across the globe.
What you'll do...Oversee the linguistic quality of our Ancestry products into SpanishTranslate Ancestry products and related marketing materials into Spanish, ensuring the overall linguistic quality of eachManage the overall localization process for Spanish-speaking markets from start to completionFacilitate the development of clear requirements, budgets and timelines with internal teams and outside vendorsCollaborate with US-based product managers, designers, engineers and content creators to ensure that solutions consider Spanish-speaking customers from the start
Who you are...Experience as a professional translator into SpanishNative Spanish fluencyEducation and practical experience in a relevant field such as translation, localization, international business, or linguisticsProficiency in industry standard localization tools (e.g., SDL TRADOS)Capabilities in leading internal and external teams in linguistic QA processesAdditional multilingual capability in additional core languages (such as French, German, Swedish, Italian) highly regarded but not required
