Ancestry is looking for an Associate Genealogist to join our ProGenealogists team.
This is an entry level professional position for Italian Genealogy research team. This position has great potential for growth in the organization for the right candidate.
Our entry level Genealogist works with Research Manager(s) to plan, research, document, and prepare client sessions. They assist in conducting research and DNA analysis, perform clerical work, request and organize records, provide project updates, and write research reports as directed by the Research Manager(s) in support of the clients’ project goals.
Our Italian Genealogy researchers work with both Italian records post and pre unification as well as conducting U.S. research to find birth locations in Italy.
It is important that you have had experience in reading Italian civil registers as well as church records that are usually in Latin.
What You'll Do:You will provide research, analysis, and clerical assistance to other professional Genealogist.You will write periodic status updates and final narrative reports of your cumulative research findings.You will format and conduct preliminary proofing of reportsYou will create image templates and assemble client deliverables (electronic and hard copy)You will manage your time and resources to meet project deadlinesYou will work together with your Research Manager(s) and other members of your team to provide a positive and engaging experience for the client
Who You Are:You have a bachelor’s degree in Family History or have comparable experience in Family History research (Preferred but not required)You have experience in researching Italian records and immigration resourcesYou can type 55 wpmYou have excellent written communication skillsYou can manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneouslyYou are detail-oriented, analytical, and know when to ask questions
