Ancestry is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer in Test to join our Data Science Engineering team in Lehi, Utah or San Francisco, CA. You will have a broad background in backend testing and strong Java development skills. You will be very comfortable programmatically reading a wide variety of data sets from different data sources (flat files, databases, S3), transforming that data into different input formats (SQS, SNS, REST endpoint), creating complex tests to inject that data into integration points in the system, reading the results and doing detailed comparisons of actual versus expected results.

Work with AWS technologies such as S3, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch and know how to work with the various Java SDKs to access those resources as part of their tests.Interpret load graphs, troubleshoot and isolate performance problems using different tools like Blazemeter, New Relic and VisualVM. Use quality metrics and tools to measure and publish those metrics; ie: SonarQube, JaCoCo/EMMA, Checkstyle, PMD and other linters.Effectively collaborate with a diverse set of engineers, data scientists and leaders to promote quality.

Who you are...

BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required3+ years related experienceExperience with Java integration testing frameworks and data-driven testing: TestNG/Junit, REST-Assured, RESTful APIs, PostmanExperience with deployment pipelines, specifically JenkinsExperience with AWS technologies, writing to and reading from: S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, Fargate, Terraform, Redshift, DatabricksExperience with manipulating JSON to create payloads and extract specific information using Java librariesExperience with load testing and associated tools: JMeter, BlazemeterSolid understanding of load testing principles, types of tests and when to use themExperience with Java required and Python preferred Working knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, IntelliJ IDEA, JMeter, and SonarQube
