As a Principal Product Manager
on this team, you will help drive the vision and strategic roadmap that evolves Ancestry’s recommendation ecosystem. You will partner tightly with leadership and domain stakeholders in the development of Ancestry’s recommendations engine, and the delivery of recommendations to customers throughout the product experience. You will create ever increasing customer value through one of the world’s most unique data sets to create a delightful and engaging experience. You will partner with our Platform Product Managers, UX Designers, Researchers, Subject Matter Experts to make the Ancestry recommendations experience faster, easier, and more fun, uncovering unique discoveries about our users and their families.
This position can be based in our Lehi, UT Corporate or San Francisco offices. We are currently 100% remote. Our offices are open for employees who wish to work onsite on a voluntary basis.
What you will do:
With a deep understanding of our current Recommendations Platform and user experience, our customers, and the engine that powers our recommendations, you will work with our leadership and domain stakeholders to champion our customers’ needs at all times.Create and evangelize the Recommendations vision and roadmap based on assessing both customer and business needs. This highly iterative process requires synthesizing qualitative and quantitative research consumer insights & data into high impact solutions for our customers.Success will be measured by delivering a more engaging experience. Data and a/b testing will guide priorities. Collaborate with domain partners to look for opportunities to innovate the Recommendations experience and to deliver new types of recommendations to our customers.Essentially, you are our Recommendations domain product experience expert.

You have built products that customers love by helping them accomplish their goals and removing their pain points. You smile with every joyful exclamation of “Wow, I never knew that about my family!” knowing it's because of what you and this team are delivering is making a difference in their lives.You are a “Let’s build this!” product leader who balances the needs of the customer and the team’s ability to deliver high impact product experiences. You’ve done it in your current role. At least, 10+ years defining and delivering front end experiences for recommendations or search ML/AI based data products to customers. You know how to work with UX Design, Research, customer service, subject matter experts, and front-end web development teams to create and deploy complex software systems. You know how to prioritize the right features to design sophisticated experiences that deliver rich ML based recommendations and discoveries to customers.You can present complex information so everyone in the room understands the product vision and how we are going to get there.More than anything, you pride yourself on consistently delivering through highly engaged partnerships and collaboration with your colleagues, saying what you do and doing what you say.
