About the RoleThe Growth Team refines our understanding of what makes a user get more out of Ancestry. We do research to better understand a user's journey and what engages them. That work balances between rapid iteration experiments and working with multiple product teams to bring useful experiences to life.Our goal is to bring valuable experiences to our users resulting in greater adoption of our family history products. We are looking for an software engineer to join our Growth Team, a cross-cutting initiative that focuses on improving the active usage of Ancestry products. We focus on acquisition and retention to improve the user experience in different stages of our customer's life cycle. We test hypothesis through A/B tests to reduce frictions in customer conversion flow, and base on the results build new features to provide a more streamlined experience for our customers.
What You'll DoPrototype growth ideas and serve them to the users with our A/B testing frameworkPartner and embed with analytics, marketing, and product teams across Ancestry to promote adoption of the winning experiencesUnderstand our existing platform landscape and how to improve itContribute to the growth ideas and improvise and develop creative solutions when common approaches fail.Understand the trade-offs in employing different engineering solutions to a problem.Participate in technical/architectural discussions with the tech teamParticipate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
Qualifications:5+ years of software engineering experience delivering high-quality products working in an Agile environmentExperience with web application development frameworks such as NodeJS, React, Redux, NextJS, SASS or similarExperience with used A/B testing tools such as Abode Test & Target, Split.IO and running multiple A/B experimentsExperience developing web applications and good understanding of JavaScript (ES6), HTML and CSSHelping people discover their story is at the heart of ours.
