Ancestry is looking for a team-oriented, creative leader to join our 11-person (and growing) content design organization. We are a team of creators, editors, linguists and historians; as our first full time Content Strategist, you will help establish a new practice within our team, will forge new ways of working with teams across the product organization, and will deliver unique value to customers through well-considered content strategy.

What You Do

Perform thorough research to develop in-depth knowledge of diverse customer needs and preferences, both domestic and internationally, as well as broad consumer trends.Produce and evaluate innovative concepts for content that support product strategy and meet diverse customer needs.Design scalable systems and specifications for content sourcing, publishing and success measurements across products.Collaborate with designers, product managers, data scientists and content creators to implement content strategy through an iterative “think-make-learn” approach. Deliverables will include editorial calendars, style guides, taxonomies, and metadata frameworks.Develop requirements for product owners, architects, and engineers to ensure that content management related systems are built to support the strategy.Track customer engagement with content, and report to stakeholders on the same.

Who You Are

Demonstrable experience in designing, creating and delivering consumer content at scale.Experience participating in customer/consumer research, and in collaborating with data scientists, product analysts, and ethnographic researchers to understand and characterize customers and their needs. Highly skilled as a systems thinker and designer. Significant experience in creating scalable constructs that organize and deliver the right content at the right time to consumers.Comfortable in presenting and evangelizing early ideas, processes and polished solutions to multidisciplinary teams and senior executives alike.Dedicated to understanding and prioritizing the experiences and needs of diverse people.
