Job Description

The Software Product Manager / Solutions Manager is an important member of the IT Department and takes ownership of an assigned portfolio of systems and helps to manage an associated backlog. The manager will need to be able to work the business to prioritize a backlog, identify vision for the portfolio, and be able to lead the support and administration of the systems in the portfolio. This position also develops user requirements, documentation, and functional specifications. This position will directly report to a senior IT leader and work cross-functionally with various business leaders.

  • Deploy and manages a complex backlog with multifaceted systems. Provides leadership in self-management of project scope and backlog.
  • Be a strategic partner with engineering, with great story-boarding skills to make requirements come to life. The manager will engage in taking ownership of the backlog working with IT and business leaders in understanding strategic vision and priorities. This work is complex and multifaceted due to the nature and complexity of DMBA.
  • Help ensure all software products and services align with corporate vision and are successfully executed.
  • Work with business leaders and development managers to alleviate the load on development managers and other leaders.
  • Decomposes business requirements into clearly defined stories.
  • Engages in understanding the current software stack and services and helps define a strategy (working with IT leadership and business leadership) of each application and options for those services.

Required Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related field. (Significant work experience can be substituted for a degree.)
  • 7-10 or more years of relevant technical or business work experience.
  • Requires leadership skills, experience/in-depth knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with claims administration systems such as TriZetto, AMISYS, Facets, AthenaHealth, Cognizant and other related solutions such as EDI X12, MCG, Medispan, Provider Credentialing Systems, Enrollment Systems, etc.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related field preferred.
