We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our finance team at Awardco. This individual will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing month-end journal entries and account reconciliations, and preparing the company’s financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including our notes to the financial statements. You will also be assisting the Accounting Manager as needed and responding to information requests by management and the external auditors.

What you will do:

  • Compile reports and information to prepare journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
  • Perform month-end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Respond to information request, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with our financial statement audit
  • Create and update narratives documenting key processes and controls. Perform risk assessments and operational audits of these areas/processes and ensure documented controls properly address identified risks
  • Assist members of management in various other projects that have been assigned to the department

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field; CPA preferred or working towards your CPA
  • Minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to adapt and learn the functionality of other accounting and reporting software suites (e.g., NetSuites, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
