Senior Director, Business Development:

Are you a strong senior Business Development leader who is ready to teach others the secrets of the trade? Then this is the job for you! The BD Director will report to Pluralsight’s VP of Global Business Development and will lead a team of 2nd and 3rd line BD Managers and Senior Managers. This Senior Director’s team will focus on inbound and outbound prospecting, qualifying, and building pipeline for Account Executives in the North America Segment. This Director will have strategic and operational accountability for the front end of the marketing and sales qualification funnel. They will partner closely with EVP of North America Sales, Director of Revenue Strategy and Operations - Business Development, and SVP - Marketing.

What you’ll own:

  • Pipeline performance of BDR team based in Austin, Salt Lake City, and Boston - aligned to specific segment, region, and product areas

  • Recruiting, training, development, progression, mentorship, and excellence of leaders on the team

  • Leadership and execution of effective prospecting techniques to identify and qualify potential buyers

  • Development and promotion of BDRs

  • Partnering with Account Executives, Sales Leaders, Field Marketers, Marketing Demand and Channel Managers

  • Attending and presenting at sales and marketing QBRs and aligning BDRs to company’s GTM motion

Experience you’ll need:

  • Validated experience in recruiting, building, and leading top-performing Business Development teams - including the ability to train, mentor and motivate

  • Ability to lead in the moment; providing immediate feedback and mentoring with the appropriate approach

  • Strong work ethic

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to synthesize complex business challenges and create clear solutions and messages for audiences at various levels of sophistication

  • Servant leader and teammate, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes in a constantly evolving environment

  • Consistent record of outstanding success in sales, marketing, business development, top of the funnel, and leadership

  • Strong track record of recruiting, training/developing and retaining hard-working sales talent

  • Ability to listen, think logically, strategically, and tactically to solve complex problems

  • Strong operational and analytical abilities

  • 5+ years of experience leading a successful B2B inside sales team as a Manager or Director
