SDK / Plugin Engineer

America’s fastest-growing payment processor is looking for a full-time SDK / Plugin Engineer.  This is your chance to work with the most modern tech stack in payments for small-town Main Street retailers who desperately need and appreciate what you do.

This is the ideal position for engineers who love playing with different languages instead of focusing all their energy on one core set of technologies.  You’ll be able to work with all modern programming languages: everything from Swift to PHP to Rust.

This role will involve a range of responsibilities:

• including maintaining the company's software development kits (SDKs) for nine different languages
• creating plugins for all major e-commerce platforms
• maintaining technical documentation
• offering developer support when needed.

This individual will need to have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Due to the nature of our work and specialized equipment, the role is a full-time on-site position with a competitive salary, generous benefits, and a stock options package.  You’ll enjoy a break room stocked with snacks and beverages, a team divided on the merits of LaCroix and strangely obsessed with putting Mule Sauce on everything, and work with a CTO who will explain Elliptic Curve Diffie Hellman in detail and at length to anyone foolish enough to ask about it.

Required Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in a related role like sales engineering, technical writing, and api development.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A passion for creating best in class technical documentation and training materials.

• Strong understanding of software development principles, including experience with programming languages such as Go, Ruby, Java, Python, C#, Objective C, Swift, PHP, Rust, or JavaScript.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with payment processing systems is a plus.

• Experience working with customers or providing customer support is also desirable. 

Nice To Haves:

Payment processing is very specialized and we know most good engineers won’t have exposure to all the things we work with.  Be sure to let us know if you have exposure to any of the following:

• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Exposure to major e-commerce platforms like Woo Commerce, Marketo, and Big Commerce.

• Familiarity with blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies.

• Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards such as PCI-DSS.

• Experience working in a customer-facing role, such as sales engineering or technical account management.

• Experience with mobile app development, particularly on iOS or Android platforms.

• Embedded programming and firmware development.  (BusyBox Linux, etc)
