Job Purpose

The VP of Platform Operations leads the DevOps, Infrastructure and Platform Stability teams at MX. Provides strategic guidance and leadership related to Site Reliability, Performance and Application Delivery by delivering continuous improvement of all technology platforms, data, and processes that support the MX experience. This leader is responsible for all technology operations related functions to ensure support of external customer experiences.


What you’ll get to do…

  • Direct the development, operations and continuous improvement of the technology services platforms and processes that support the MX external user experience. 

  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of testing capabilities and processes that support the expanding needs of the company by closely collaborating with architectural bodies.

  • Own and advance proper delivery of products and services for MX specifically SaaS Operations and Delivery Platforms.

  • Identify and architect best of breed practices at MX that support Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Delivery and Site Reliability.

  • Establish clear requirements for engineering and product teams for product architecture and delivery

  • Propel end-to-end enterprise product and business monitoring and establishes an alerting strategy that is flexible and supports both on premise and Cloud technology.

  • Build procedures that ensure parity between Infrastructure and DevOps teams that support site reliability and availability requirements.

  • Foster accelerated growth and timely implementation of required foundational services through the creation of a  highly scalable and flexible platform architecture.

  • Understand the architectural requirements of a highly available platform and rapid delivery of customer facing solutions.

  • Work directly with Product and Engineering to transition legacy managed services to Cloud Native service paradigms.

  • Support efforts to protect the key information and information system assets of the company, including brand and reputation.

  • Recruit, inspire, manage, and continuously develop a world-class team of technology professionals and their careers.

  • Establish technology departmental OKRs, KPIs and Procedures.

  • Champion company and department plans, policies, best practices, and standards for the organization.


You’ll do it using your…

  • 15+ years of demonstrable experience in dealing with large complex systems and technology platforms.

  • Leadership experience that has led teams to build delivery platforms, standards and operations to scale.

  • Practical business experience in financial services and/or other scale-driven transaction processing environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately identify when to leverage on-prem and/or public cloud environments with state-of-the-art DevOps paradigms.

  • Experience recommending new technology and processes that will reduce costs and/or provide a competitive advantage.

  • Experience working within financial technology software organizations and PCI environments is a plus.

  • Highly driven passion for developing teams that deliver and help the organization transform; track record of finding and cultivating outstanding technical talent.

  • Ability to define and meet established expectations while leading and coaching others to do the same.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong collaboration & negotiation skills, showing ability to influence without ownership.

  • Ability to gain support and trust across the organization to achieve agreed upon business outcomes.
