Key Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering, support, and product teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with Pattern’s products
  • Triage bug reports, feature requests, and other issues
  • Read and understand complex application code and contribute code fixes to resolve customer issues
  • Communicate with users about the status of issues and resolution
  • Use technical tools (such as SQL) to identify and fix data problems that may be causing issues for customers
  • Help facilitate knowledge transfer and communication for escalated support issues
  • Document known issues and help contribute to possible solutions
  • Make use of systems monitoring and alerting to help you in your job

 

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working toward bachelor’s degree in a technical field or relevant work experience
  • Experience in internship or part-time product, support, development, or SDET roles
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills
  • Ability to read and write application code
  • Ability to work with others to troubleshoot issues, keep exact notes, and follow-up with resolutions to problems
  • Proven “doer” attitude with ability to self-start and take a project to completion
  • Understanding of basic software and data architectural principles
  • Desire to help take Pattern to the next level through exploration and innovation

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing and debugging production code in Ruby on Rails, React, or similar frameworks
  • SQL query writing
  • Experience with the software development life cycle, CI/CD, git, and code build pipelines
  • Experience with Linux servers and how they work
  • Familiarity with software support and bug resolution lifecycle
  • Familiarity with web browser developer tools and debugging errors there
