**The Elevator Pitch: Why will** **you** **enjoy this new opportunity?** The Digital Transformation team within VMware IT is responsible for spearheading App Modernization efforts,leveraging VMware Tanzu,to enable VMware's Digital Transformation. As Manager,Digital Transformation,you will be a key member of the team and be responsible for defining our app modernization strategy,developing roadmaps,and driving implementation together with app development teams. You will also be instrumental in scaling our advocacy strategy to evangelize,and elevate,VMware's brand as a thought leader in digital transformation and app modernization. This is a high impact role that offers you opportunities to champion a high profile transformation within VMware,working with a group that fosters an entrepreneurial team spirit and a team culture to promote top performers to leadership positions at all levels. **Success in the Role: What are the performance** **outcome** **s over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?** Drive progress and achieve defined milestones towards VMware IT's app modernization initiatives,specifically in the areas of Strategy and Advocacy: + Writing and publishing marketing assets,such as IT blogs,customer stories,and case studies to drive awareness of our app modernizationefforts + Collaboratively Define with theDigital Transformationteama strategic framework for VMware IT's app modernization strategy and roadmap. You will alsohelp with implementation ofrecommendations + Deliveraquarterly'Success Scorecard' to showcase ROI of app modernizationefforts + Develop presentations to execs and stakeholders to communicate program strategy andoutcomes + Assist in establishing a 'Tanzu Community of Practice' across VMware's developer community to accelerate adoption of our CDTO Modern App Platform + Buildeffective relationshipsacross IT,MAP BU,and Marketing teamsto accelerate strategicinitiatives + Share ideas,solicit feedback,and collaborate effectively,as part of a high-performing team,to enable all members to besuccessful **The Work:** **What type of work will you be doing? What assignments,requirements,or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?** + You will workclosely with Director,Digital Transformation to support app modernization and digital transformation activities,as well asan opportunity toshapeand scaleouradvocacy strategy. + In this role we would be looking for a candidate that has excellent writtenand verbalcommunication as we would be looking for youtowrite technical blogs,abstractsfor conferences(e.g.,VMworld,SpringOne,etc.),customer stories,case studies and other advocacy contentto ensure a richpipeline of advocacy content. Therefore,prior experience in technical product marketing with the capability to understand,and explain,the more technical aspects of a product and communicate the value proposition to various audiences (e.g.,developers/DevOpsand CXOs) will be helpful. + Beinstrumental in developing ourapp modernizationstrategy andfacilitatingimplementation across the IT team. Therefore,prior experience in creating strategic frameworks or IT strategy would be helpful. + Strongpowerpointskills are critical as you will be developingpresentations forvariousaudiences (executives,IT & BU stakeholders,or the field) to communicate strategy,benefits,progressand resultsofapp modernizationactivities. Assistin establishinga Tanzu Community of Practicefor developers to drive adoption ofVMware Tanzuand interest in building on this platform. You will help research best practices and set up operationalactivities + WorkwiththeDigital Transformation team to delivera 'Success Scorecard' and showcasing ROI of app modernizationefforts + Be acollaborative team member building cross-functional relationshipsacross IT,R&D,and Marketingto accelerate strategyand advocacyinitiatives. This including driving consensus for team-oriented planning anddecision-making + Be expected toown and execute projects against clear project plans with well-defined milestones and business impact objectives. You will need to be able tooperate independently under uncertaintyand be comfortabletackling ambiguousproblems **W** **h** **at is the leadership like for this role** **? What** **is the structure and culture of the team like?** You will report into the Director,Digital Transformation but can expect to interact frequently with the Vice President,of Digital Transformation. As part of a relative flat organization,you will have full ownership of your domain,will be required initiative and self-starter attitude,and will feel empowered and will have direct interactions with management. We are building a core team comprised of Business Generalists,Product Marketers,and individuals with Technical backgrounds,each contributing to different aspects of the work needed to build and drive adoption of a Modern App Platform.
