What you will be working on: The Instructional Design Manager supports the Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) team through ownership of learning content design. The Instructional Design Manager reports to the Director of L&OD and works alongside the training execution managers on employee-facing initiatives. The ideal candidate for this role a self-motivated expert with a strong sense of ownership and a "get things done" attitude. Successful Instructional Design Managers are effective at managing multiple priorities,are detail-oriented and organized,learn quickly,and have a track record of being adaptable in a fluid,high-growth environment. This role is based in the Provo,UT office. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: + Supervise a small team of instructional design developers. + Manage the project list,scoping efforts,and project tracking for the instructional design team. + Lead the analysis and design phases of new programs and training initiatives. + Work with Leadership and peers to design,support,and maintain strategic initiatives including but not limited to new program development,program evaluation,course maintenance,and process documentation. + Design and develop training materials in multiple modalities including on-demand digital courses,ILT,blended learning,interactive e-learning modules,micro videos,mobile learning,job aids,certifications,and facilitator guides. + Utilize standard measurement practices (Kirkpatrick model,etc.) to evaluate learning content effectiveness and report out to stakeholders as required. + Assess the current state of training content across Vivint and drive improvements,creativity,and innovation in the way training content is displayed and distributed. + Maintain a state-of-the-art knowledge of best practices instructional design and make recommendations for adoption of such practices based on market changes,product changes,emerging technologies,and internal customer feedback. + Manage vendor relationships and platform integrations as required for content projects. + Manage content delivery and tracking within the LMS in partnership with the LMS Admin. Required Skills and Experience: + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience + 4+ years of Instructional and Course Design experience with a proven high level of multimedia and presentation design. + Exceptional communication and customer service skills + Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines + Ability to proactively collaborate with stakeholders with limited supervision + Strong program and project management skills. + Expertise in presentation design tools like: Adobe Creative Suite,Adobe Articulate,Adobe Captivate,PowerPoint (all MSOffice products),Keynote and Camtasia 8 software.
