The person hired for the position of Software Engineer will be key developer for the NLP Tools team. Were looking for passionate developers to join our engineering team. Day-to-day work follows a scrum team approach to developing leading edge cloud based enterprise software. The Impact Youll Make in this Role

As an Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.


Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Software development for the NLP tool suites
  • Be an active member of a scrum team by participating in all phases of SDLC, including design, development and code reviews
  • Develop software components based on requirements, architecture and design specifications
  • Work with other software architects, software engineers, quality engineers, and other team members to design and build required systems
  • Coordinate and communicate with product owner, other NLP teams and end users
  • Write high-quality unit tested code that will run in a continuous delivery pipeline
  • Work on a scrum team to meet the goals that the Product Owner defines for weekly sprints
  • Innovate company IP for NLP ML tools
  • Actively participate in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3Ms values and ethical standards.


Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in software development in lieu of the bachelors degree education requirement
  • Two (2) years of experience in Java, JAX RS REST services
  • Experience with various container architecture patterns & microservices patterns
  • Expertise with a JavaScript framework
  • Java Spring Boot with Hibernate experience
  • Material Design experience
  • Experience in elastic cloud computing environments such as Amazon AWS and Azure


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include

  • Experience with rest API services using Java
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Experience with Jenkins/Continuous Integration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time efficient manner
  • Knowledgeable in SOA and ROA architecture
  • Proficient in writing both synchronous and asynchronous restful services.
  • Knowledgeable in leading Amazon technologies such as Redshift, Aurora, EC2, Glacier, AWS Import/Export, S3 API
  • Healthcare industry experience
