The Senior Specialist Test Engineer is responsible for performing manual and automated test system development,maintenance,troubleshooting,and repair tasks to meet program technical,schedule,and cost objectives regarding the test of a wide variety of acoustic transducers and systems.
+ Implementation of manual and automated commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)-based electromechanical test systems from the requirements and design phases through development,documentation,and validation
+ Troubleshooting,maintenance,and repair of test systems to ensure optimal readiness and reduce downtime
+ Use and automation of test equipment related to acoustic transducers,systems,and sub-assemblies such as signal generators,digitizers,power supplies,multimeters,impedance analyzers,hi-pot testers,insulation resistance meters,etc.
+ Creation and revision of test plans and procedures
+ Participation in test and production readiness reviews
+ Assistance with first article product testing and seamless transition from product design to full production of transducers and systems
+ Capacity and accountability to successfully complete projects on-time and within budget
+ Continuous improvement mindset with ability to propose ways to improve product test functions and reduce production labor through automation
+ Ability to interface with other internal departments and potentially external customers in a professional manner
+ Reporting to Test Engineering Lead for tasking and direction
+ Ability to lead and accomplish program-critical tasks during execution of aggressive program plans.
+ US citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance
+ Ability to travel 10% of the time or less
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,Computer Engineering,OR Electronics Engineering Technology. Degree from an ABET accredited institution is required.
+ A minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience,OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience is required.
+ LabVIEW software development skills (Certified LabVIEW Developer,OR Certified LabVIEW Architect required).
+ Working knowledge of piezoelectric technology is highly beneficial.
+ Office and laboratory work in production areas and an acoustic test facility (ATF).
+ Some exposure to seasonal weather,temperature extremes,water,and ice around the ATF.
+ Occasional bending,stooping,and lifting of test equipment.
+ Potential electrical and mechanical hazards around the ATF.
