Applications / Systems Analyst

Our growth has created an exciting opportunity for individuals wanting to go beyond an ordinary career while working in an award-winning culture alongside an empowered team of Employee-Owners!  AE2S is seeking an Applications/Systems Analyst to become part of the Information Technology Team.  The Applications/Systems Analyst analyzes business processes and technology needs and makes recommendations for improving the efficiencies and effectiveness of business applications.  This role defines, develops, and implements training and procedural efficiencies related to business system applications.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Assist in the planning, design, development, of new applications and enhancements to existing applications
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues
  • Recommend technical and procedural design for new or revised applications
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Maintain and enhance current Knowledge Management system

 

Training

  • Consult with subject matter experts to determine training needs and objectives
  • Provide orientation and training to end-users for all modified and new systems
  • Assess training packages available from vendors and determine best training methodologies
  • Develop standards and procedures to ensure consistencies and efficiencies amongst employees
  • Prepare written documentation to describe program development and application

 

Acquisition and Deployment

  • Assist in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications
  • Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts

 

Operational

  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system developers
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems
  • Analyze business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective business system application 
  • Establish system specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and cost effectiveness.

 

Business Intelligence

  • Define opportunities within knowledge management to create efficiencies leveraging business intelligence (BI)
  • Work in conjunction with the BI team members to execute strategic efficiencies

 

Qualifications

Basic
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or related field and six years relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
  • Working technical knowledge of database and program language
  • Communicates proactively, clearly, and concisely

 

Preferred

  • Knowledge of .Net, Database SQL, Python, and Java
  • Experience integrating with Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to collaborate amongst various work groups and end-users
  • Excellent customer service orientation and knowledge of applicable best practices, policies, and procedures
