This position is for a business intelligence analyst to focus on the operation and analysis of internal tools and processes that provide data-driven analytics to help drive business decisions. This position will primarily be responsible for taking existing business intelligence processes, mostly managed through complex and in depth Excel spreadsheets, and operating within those constructs to provide the business with regular and accurate data and analysis for operational decisions in various departments, including supply chain, logistics and warehouse ops, sales operations, and accounting. This position will also be responsible for documenting and helping institutionalize these processes as well as helping iterate and evolve these processes to meet the changing demands of a growing business.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their own, but also enjoys collaborating to solve problems, exhibiting independent thinking, initiative, follow-up, and follow through with commitments. He or she has a strong ability to apply data analysis to resolve diverse/complex problems, with extreme proficiency using Excel and other similar BI tools to both understand problems and communicate potential solutions clearly to stakeholders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Execution and analysis of ongoing reports for all business groups; collect, aggregate, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to drive insights in business performance and provide solutions to business problems
  • Monitor historical and real-time performances of key metrics to help create a predictable business, detect and report anomalies and potential gaps in business performance
  • Develop and modify reports, verify information integrity and design business intelligence dashboards, scorecards, charts/graphs, drill-downs, and dynamic reports to meet new information needs
  • Documentation, maintenance, and iterating on existing data toolsets and reports
  • Evaluating business intelligence and data/analytics processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to report on business intelligence to drive both tactical and strategic decisions
  • Aiding in project to warehouse and maintain critical data, with a focus on usability and data integrity

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree of a quantitative nature (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing and maintaining datasets
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook, with extreme proficiency in Excel
  • A track record of following through on commitments
  • Drive for excellence in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced communication skills and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to produce analytics solutions

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:  

  • Open office environment – Primary
  • Evening and weekend work as job duties demand, especially in collaborating and syncing up with overseas partners
  • Domestic and International Travel up to 10% may be required
  • Occasionally requires lifting up to 50lbs as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
